It seems like I never have enough time anymore to visit my blog and update as much as I'd like, never enough hours in my day!
Jill has just recently turned 5, she had a wonderful birthday party with 4 of her classmates. Not surprising to us, she wanted a cooking party(this girl will be an amazing little chef someday, writing her own cookbooks), we made pizza, cupcakes and had so much decorating with a million sprinkles adding color to my kitchen floor!LOL!
We are continuing to see changes in our baby girl, her speech has been slowly improving(starting another round of therapy soon), she has grown a couple of inches and is enjoying school immensely.
Her Santa list this year includes Bakugans, a coat for Charlie and a DS! I bet this good girl will be getting a few things on her list, wink....
Jen is doing fantastic, working hard on her piano and theory, excelling in her studies and still finds some time to enjoy her Brownie outings. Recently to my surprise she just finished reading Narnia, she is reading presently at a grade 3 or 4 level!! Amazing!! It warms my heart to see how much she is enjoying and loving their new puppy Charlie, I wouldn't be surprised if this soft hearted monkey didn't grow up and study to be a vet, she is like the animal whisperer.
Her Christmas wish list was a coat and toys for Charlie and some books. Santa will be good to her, I just know it...

Boo!!
We are ready for trick or treating, was a little worried that Jen wouldn't be going out door to door in the neighbourhood. She has been a little under the weather so has been at home for the last three days, I think we will be taking it easy and only going to a few houses.
We are ready for the ghosts and goblins, have a "Safe" Halloween!

First day of School 09'
Today was the first day back for the monkeys.
A day of mixed emotions, Jennifer was ecstatic to be returning to her friends, Jilly-Bean was apprehensive(as you can see in the above photo).
Standing in line my baby grabbed me for dear life and cried big crocodile tears. Keeping my composure I comforted her and sent her to the door, walking away trying to fight back tears. Talking to her teacher later in the day she told me that as soon as Jill went into the school the tears stopped and she was fine.
Jen on the other hand went to her line, didn't want Mom to kiss or hug her, not in front of her friends(yeesh Mom??)LOL.
The first day of school was fantastic, they came home so excited and they love their teacher, yes!!

The point of Hunter's Point.
We have had the cottage at Hunter's Point now for six years now, such a wonderful find, out in the middle of nowhere, no electricity, no phones and no interruptions.
Just family time, it's all about the girls and making lifelong memories for them.
The point of Hunter's point is just that , family, it is just a wonderful place to get back to nature and the basics(no electronics, no phones ringing, no work and no other commitments).
There is a lot of relaxing...

It's that time of year.
It's that time of year, back to school supplies are being purchased today.
For me it always seems a little sad to see the Summer end and the girls head off to school. For them, well, they can't wait to see old friends, meet new ones and share their Summer adventures.
My monkey are growing up, all too fast...

Company on their way!
Today is an exciting day for us, we have friends on their way for a visit. They are travelling from out of province to a reunion and are passing through to see us for lunch.
Jay, Sandy, Maia and Claire are from Jillian's China group, we had such a great time with them in Chongqing so we can't wait to see them again and get the girls together!
I'm sure I'll have my camera out, *wink*

Still in vacation mode..
Were home, safe and sound but very tired.
Our vacation was wonderful, it was worth all the driving, putting up with the weather(rain and more rain)one holiday that won't soon be forgotten.
During our stay on the island I had the honour and privilege to meet this lady from of Sugar, Spice and a little Rice.I felt like I had known her forever, our visit at her local Tim's felt like a weekly gab session around our kitchen table.I would love to thank Deb for the wonderful Island treats, the wonderful P.E.I. dirt shirts for the girls(who behaved like little monkeys during our visit with Deb,really they aren't really like that Deb, I swear, LOL), the local dish Rapure and the strawberry preserves. Thank you so much!!
I can not wait to follow her journey soon, she will be bringing her beautiful little girl home very soon, we couldn't be more happy for her and her family!!
I continue to be in holiday mode, I have been sorting through pictures, will be posting some soon. The island scenery is such a beautiful backdrop for some monkey pics.

Slacker
I have been slacking off.
I will be the first to admit that blogging has taken a backseat to Summer. I have been visiting but do not always have the time to leave comments.
We are trying to get ready for our holidays, we are travelling out to the East coast, can't wait to dip our toes in the ocean!!
I leave you with a view from our sun room, this is Ruby as the girls call her, we love our Summer visitors!

The girls are head over heels in love.
The girls are head over heels in love.
Last week our neighbour got a new puppy, his name is Dexter and the girls can't not get enough of him! They are wanting to be next door constantly, we are feeling a little guilty, enjoying the perks of having a puppy without the vet bills or having to feed and pick up after him the yard, LOL. The girls are now begging us for a dog of their own, had to explain to them it won't be this Summer, too busy to train a puppy. For now our neighbour is being so wonderful, letting us spoil his baby.
We continue to be busy with finishing up the school year, upcoming school trips and sports, lots and lots of sports.

Do I smell birthday cake??
Today is my birthday, as I climbed into my mid 40's all I can say is the years keep getting better and better!!
I woke to a kiss from hubby(as he was dashing out the door to work) and half hour later two little monkeys bolted excitedly through the bedroom door with homemade card in tow. They crawled into bed with me, cuddled and kissed the birthday girl. They presented me with a gift and easy bake oven cake and cookies, I thought my heart would literally melt.
Thank to all my family for making this the best weekend, I felt your love.
Hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful long weekend, enjoy...

Happy Mother's Day
To my Mother-in-law, thank you for being such a great "Mom" and Grandma.
Thank you for bringing such a wonderful man into the world, you raised him to be such a caring wonderful, loving person. He is a loving Father, for that I am truly grateful. Thank you for opening your arms and heart to your Daughter-in-laws, we feel so loved in your presence.
Happy Mother's day to you, all my love...
Note the funky hair and tired(but estatic) look in my hubby eyes, LOL. We had just returned home from China, tired and in love..
To my Mom, thank you for giving me life, making that decision at 16 years of age could not have been easy.
You have been a wonderful, loving, caring and nurturing Mother, never showing your struggles along the way. You have been there for me around every corner, been my support, my strength and guided me when I needed it.You once told me being a Mother was a lifetime commitment, it didn't end when your children left home, you have proved to me that I am never to old to have the love and support of my Mom. Your now a Grandma and it just makes my heart swell with such love and pride when I see you with my girls, they love their Nana.
Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you..
To my girl's birth Mother. I hope you know in your heart how much I love you.
I promised to you the day I held our child, I would love, nurture, protect and cherish them for all my life and beyond.
So as tomorrow comes please now I will be thinking of you and holding you dear in my heart, thank you for bringing 2 beautiful little lives into this world
