Thankful Thursday.

I am thankful for the show nature put on for my girls yesterday, we had four Robins, a chipmunk, a rabbit, a squirrel, some sparrows and a Cardinal all sharing the same bird feed. I always put feed on the ground as well as in the feeders for the Mourning Doves, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all the birds and small animals enjoying the seeds.
I was going to take a picture, almost to the door when Jillian smashed on the window to say "Look at the birdies Mom". Needless to say everything went in flight or jumped way in fright, LOL, that's my girl.
I was thinking Spring had finally arrived, then I listened to the news last night, snow storm warning for tonight, ending early Friday morning, ARRR!!!

Weekend whirl.

We made the Easter bunny some Easter treats.

Making cookies, the girls are just in their aprons, we were using dye and egg wash so Mom thought it would save the clothes!!

The Easter bunny came last night Mom.

Evidence that he came and left with a full tummy.

Easter Morning(before 6am)
There shouldn't have been anything stirring not even a mouse.
There should have been darkness throughout my house.
To my utter delight(ya right,LOL)lights turned on and shrieks were heard.
No smell of coffee, just chocolate bunnies. I'm so darned tired I can't mutter a word.
Jumping, yelling, screaming, for the bunny left his load.
All I can say is why were we the first to wake on the road??
I want some sleep, my eyes want to close but I hear the excitement and the patter of tiny toes.
Hubby hands me my coffee in my Easter mug, we watch our babes gather sugar and caffeine of their own.Watching them he gives me a look of contentment and smug(he's the master planner).
He did it again that Easter bunny, happy kids and tired (very) parents, ya he thinks he's clever and funny.Wait until the kids are wired on sugar(around noon)and out of their heads and Mom hides under the covers in her bed.
We had a wonderful Easter with family, hope you had a wonderful holiday too. ;)

Wordless Wednesday.

One of Superman's co-workers left the company and headed to Northwest Territories to another power company. This is what he saw when he was out on the job, thought they were so beautiful and wanted to share with you.
I love the size of their paws, could you imagine cuddling up on the couch with them, LOL.

Many thanks.

For everyone who has left comments and e-mails I would like to thank you so much.
The outpouring is very much appreciated, this blogging community has always been a sense of support for me. It has been an outlet to vent my frustrations, ask for suggestions and share my accomplishments as a stay at home Mom ( and an excellent venue to brag about my gorgeous babies).
My Dad is continuing to be tested, they are testing his adrenal glands. He has had an MRI, cat scan and has been poked more times than a pin cushion, so he tells me. My Dad has been keeping pretty quiet about this whole ordeal, he doesn't want to worry me??? He has always been this way my whole life, the protector, even though I'm 42, he is still trying to shield his baby.
So for now no news is good news and I am trying to keep busy until we have test results(they seem like they take forever!!).
Thank you from our family, thank you so much.

The waiting Place

You can get so confused that you'll start in to racedown long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

The Waiting Place...

Trip to the E.R.

Last evening as I was cooking dinner, the girls were running through the upstairs playing with each other. They were getting a little rambunctious and were told by Mommy to calm down before someone gets hurt. I just got the words out of my mouth and Jillian rounded a corner and smacked dead on into a door jam.
I ran to find her gurgling blood, now I have encountered a lot of blood, cuts and just about anything you can think of in my past line of work, but when it's your own baby it's a whole different ballgame!!
I rushed her into the washroom, bent her over the sink and started rinsing her mouth out with water. I could see a cut on her lip, I applied pressure to the area and it's then I spotted the real emergency. Her front tooth was loose, very loose and hanging below it's neighbouring tooth at least a 1/4 of an inch.
Emergency calls were placed to the dentist, we were told to go to admitting at the Emerg and we would be seen by the resident Dentist. We walked in and were seen immediately, he took x-rays and decided not to pull the tooth, he didn't feel it was going to fall out on it's own and cause her to choke or asphyxiate in her sleep. He could see in the film she had a fracture and needed to be seen today by a pediatric dental specialist.
We have an emergency appointment today at 3pm, so how's your March break been??

On a happier note Jen is off on a big girl date with her Daddy to see a live performance of Mulan, Jill was supposed to go, we will make it up to her when she is well.

Update,
Well Jillian still has 2 front teeth, the right one was pushed up and the left one pushed out. The left one hangs about1/4 of an inch lower. It is very loose, the hopes are it will bond itself and not lose blood flow. They were very concerned about damage to the permanent teeth, it seems they looked unharmed on the many!! x-rays Jillian had to undergo.
We have another return appointment in 2 weeks, we are keeping our fingers crossed that we can keep the loose tooth!!

March Break Begins

This was Sunday morning, Jack thinking it's good to be a dog, he won't be shovelling.
Superman and I both had our snowblowers out(matching hubby and wife's, LOL, one belongs at our rental unit, it was brought home for the snowstorm).

We went to our local Conservation area today to toboggan, have snowball fights and take a nature walk. It was intended to wear out the monkeys, it worked like a charm, wink.

We are starting our nature walk, I let the monkeys get ahead of me about 50 feet, the I yelled look out for the big bear, should of had my video camera.

I like this area in the summer, we picnic near this area.

Princess Puddin' Pop.

Down the hill, it looks deceiving, it is actually steep and loads of fun.

Break time, enjoying the sun, it was a wonderful start to our March break.

3 Little words..

My 3 words for this week, I need sleep.
What a striking photo, remind me to throw this into the recycle bin, LOL.

This was the start of our winter storm today, it has dumped well over 30 cm of snow.
I really need to come out of hibernation, I desperately want Spring, please....

My sweetest distraction.

Jennifer has been doing outstanding at Karate, she is going to be tested next week for her red belt. Taking her little sister to class was never a problem for Jennifer until last week, Jillian decided sitting in the cheer leading section was not cutting it, she wanted to be a participant.
Well needless to say Jillian has gotten some attention, she is a sweet distraction, she has halted the class due to everyone (including the Sensei)laughing and stopping to comment on how cute she is. This is not sitting well with her Jie-Jie, who rolls her eyes and motions for her to stop .
The problem is when I try to get her to sit down then the meltdown starts and it's more of a disruption than if I were to let her join in the fun.

Here is a shot of the Karate kid trying to keep up with the class.

Doing some jumping jacks. I'm afraid if Jillian keeps up with the class like she has been that I am going to be asked to buy a uniform and start paying for the instruction, LOL.

Can't beat em, join em..

Wanted March to come in like this.

We got this!! So if you can't beat em, join em!
We went outside this morning for 2 hours. We had quite the storm last night, freezing rain, sleet and then come the dumping of the dreaded white stuff, about 10 cm in all.
So Mommy shovelled, the girls tobogganed and then we sat and had some hot chocolate and took a much needed break.

Here is Jack enjoying some playtime, he loves to rub his face in the snow.
I personally he saw the camera come out and is playing shy!

Oh Mom, put the camera away!

I am not going to be on your blog, Mom, did you hear me!!!

Best Forever Friend.

Today is Helen's day. I wish everyday could be her day.
I truly have the best friend ever, I didn't hand pick her, if I did I couldn't of done any better.
Our friendship started about 7 years ago, I met her husband first at a meeting we were both attending, we had a few common interests and our paths crossed a few times. One day out of the blue one day he said that he wanted me to meet his wife. He felt that we had a lot in common and that he was sure we would hit it off. His instincts were right, I had felt that I had know her a lifetime, instantly we became friends.
Over the years our friendship has strengthened, we have suffered together, rejoiced together, one thing never changing how much I adore and love my friend.
Helen gives so much of herself to others, she volunteers countless hours, donates to such wonderful causes and still finds enough time to always be the best friend. Not only is she special to me but my girls adore their special Aunt, for a lady not having her own children(no I stand corrected, she has 3 fur babies)she is so supportive. Many a night when we first come home from China I was on the phone with her, tears flowing and feeling at wits end(sleep deprived), she was able to calm me in an instant.
So today as I sit thinking of her I want to say "thank you" for being such a great friend. You are our family, we love you very much.
