Trick or Treat.

Well, it has been forever since I have visited or updated this old blog.
Life has been so busy and the monkeys are growing inches taller every time I turn around. I seen the evidence last night when I put on their black hooded cloaks from last year, unsuspectingly they were inches too short!! As a Mom, you just wish you could turn back the clock, stop them from growing.
Last evening was so much fun, their costumes looked fantastic and they come home with a huge loot of candy(which we donate every year, after 2 days of letting them gorge). The weather held out for the most part, a little rain didn't dampen the spirit of the ghouls.
Hope you had a safe and spooktacular Halloween....boo!

Trick or Treat.

Jen Pumpkin head

Jill Punkin' head.
I can not believe the costumes the monkey's Daddy made them this year!!
He paper mached them pumkin heads, they look incredible!!

In this photo you can see how he supported and distributed the weight so they wouldn't be too heavy on their little heads and shoulders. There is a bike helmet inside and some straps for their shoulders.

Here is the paper mache product before we started the painting process. We painted them black first, the a white primer coat, from there we brushed green for shading, a burnt orange for base colour and a yellow for highlighting. Then we varnished them for waterproofing.
The end results are amazing..
Trick or Treat everyone, have fun and stay safe..
Booo..

We will be camping on the Bay of Fundy and then driving to the Island to spend most of our time, can hardly wait to sit on the beautiful beaches and watch the girls collect shell, build their dream castles and cuddle alongside Superman, life is sweet.

Happy Mother's Day

To my Mother-in-law, thank you for being such a great "Mom" and Grandma.
Thank you for bringing such a wonderful man into the world, you raised him to be such a caring wonderful, loving person. He is a loving Father, for that I am truly grateful. Thank you for opening your arms and heart to your Daughter-in-laws, we feel so loved in your presence.
Happy Mother's day to you, all my love...

Note the funky hair and tired(but estatic) look in my hubby eyes, LOL. We had just returned home from China, tired and in love..

To my Mom, thank you for giving me life, making that decision at 16 years of age could not have been easy.
You have been a wonderful, loving, caring and nurturing Mother, never showing your struggles along the way. You have been there for me around every corner, been my support, my strength and guided me when I needed it.You once told me being a Mother was a lifetime commitment, it didn't end when your children left home, you have proved to me that I am never to old to have the love and support of my Mom. Your now a Grandma and it just makes my heart swell with such love and pride when I see you with my girls, they love their Nana.
Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you..

To my girl's birth Mother. I hope you know in your heart how much I love you.
I promised to you the day I held our child, I would love, nurture, protect and cherish them for all my life and beyond.
So as tomorrow comes please now I will be thinking of you and holding you dear in my heart, thank you for bringing 2 beautiful little lives into this world

Family Day 2009

We have enjoyed every minute of Family Day, slept in, went skating and off to Tim's for a treat.
Just a relaxing day full of family fun, I think we should have one of these little holidays every month, LOL!
We decided to take an informal shot every Family Day to see how much the monkeys change from year to year, this being our first attempt.
Hope your enjoying your day...

Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Supplies were bought...

Red envelopes were stuffed....

and stuffed...

With chocolate money and lucky candies...

Then it was off to the chinese Cultural center in our area. Jillian is waiting for the Lion dance and the food, LOL. For her it's always all about the food...

Jennifer looking at the drums used in the lion dance.

The lion(not the dragon, he came later)...Jennifer checking him out...

The dance was out of this world fantastic, the girls are still talking about it...

The music was so beautiful...

Then came the Money Gods, they handed out Lucky envelopes to everyone...

There was lots of dancing, the children were so adorable.
It was such a great beginning to the New Year.

Holiday Haze.

New P.J's for Christmas, made special just for the monkeys from my Aunt Chris.

Boxing Day at Nana's.

Christmas morning, finding some treasures Santa left.

Now the holidays are over this is how we feel(click on photo for the full effect, LOL).
I for one am so glad the holidays are behind us. After having four! Christmas celebrations in one week, we are exhausted and have spent the rest of the holidays struggling to get out of our pyjamas, LOL.
I am eager to start 2009 and have made a couple of resolutions, to get back on the treadmill more and to watch my diet( less sugar). Superman has implied that I have already broke them both as I was watching him run last night while shoving English(the yummiest)chocolates into my mouth.?? The nerve, LOL!.

Wishing you all the best for 2009.

From our family to yours we wish you a safe and Happy New Year, full of health, happiness and prosperity.
To all those waiting families we hope your dreams come to fruition.

Pinch me!!

This is my Christmas present, I am still in disbelief.
My Superman and I usually don't go overboard and buy each other extravagant Christmas gifts, after all it's all about the monkeys.
Well to my utter shock and disbelief Superman blew me away with this wonderful gift.
It's got me a little intimidated, it's beautiful, light weight, takes clean, crisp, vivid gorgeous shots.
I'm in love!!
I can't wait to use it to it's potential, that is after I read the manual(when are the girls going back to school? LOL), right now I'm shooting on auto(told you I was intimidated, LOL).
So to all my blogger ladies out there, any tips, hints and suggestions are most welcome, please...

Gingerbread house 2008

All ready to go, think it's hardened enough so it won't collapse like last year, LOL..
So far so good...
What happened to my helpers, eating on the job, LOL...
Finished ..
I laughed at this picture, it looks like Jillian is thinking about ripping off the roof and devouring it.

We have had another snowy, blustery day with frigid temperatures. We are starting to get cabin fever, I think it's a little too cold for playing outside. It is great for getting the skating rink started, we need to flood it again tonight, the girls are ready to skate!
We are making sugar dough tonight so it can be ready to go for Santa cookies, we'll bake them Christmas eve.
Hope your having a great day..

Sunday, December 21, 2008

This and that..

I just had to, LOL..
Superman going out to blow snow in this get up, LOL...

The start of our backyard rink, flooding the ice..

Girls out playing, as you can see Jennifer is feeling so much better!!

The storm on Friday. They closed the schools so Jillian wanted to go play outside, of course Mommy didn't, LOL...

Jillian in her first Christmas concert. They did the reindeer hokey-pokey, it was adorable.

The pics are thrown in to say we have been busy, my Mom took the girls overnight yesterday so I finished up all my shopping and errands. All that is left to do now is enjoy the holidays.
