Holding her heart this morning, not her hand..

This morning Jennifer asked if I would stand at the van while she walked herself to the school yard, what??? Didn't want Mom to walk her to school, my baby has decided she can walk from the parking lot to the school yard!
I sometimes forget that my Puddin Pop is just 6, she has always been my old spirit, has been a very mature little girl, wise beyond her years.
So as I stood by the van I watched her walk across the school grounds to the line up, emotions high, realizing she has grown so much since entering the first grade.
Wishing I could keep her small forever but embracing this beautiful, young girl she is becoming.

It so hard letting them go, but it's also so wonderful seeing them grow and become their own person! You have done an amazing job! She is confident and feels ready to take that big step. That's all because of you!!! You should feel proud!!!

Yes it is hard to watch them grow but very rewarding isn't it? Brought up so many memories as I was reading it. Let's enjoy all that we can.

what a big girl

Its so hard watching them grow up. we want to keep them as aur little babies.

At the begining of the school year emilee would hold on to me for dear life and she would have to be ripped from my arms. I was in such pain watching this happen everyday. i didnt understand why she wouldnt walk in like the rest of the kids. I kept tring to build up her confidence. then one day she walked in by herself and i cried. My baby was growing up. Now she pratically jumps from the car before it stops to get into school. I long for the days she held on to me but I know this is the natural progression

Such a big girl for sure. I know just how you feel, we mothers never want to let them go but we slowly do and yes, continue to hold their hearts.

I got teary eyed just reading this post! Bravo to brave Jennifer. And a huge hug to you Mom. Sometimes I think it's harder for us to let them go than it is for them to take that first brave independent step!

I hear you, do we really have to let go? Also, do they really have to go to school??? Can't they just stay at home with us the rest of our lives??? I have a love/hate relationship about Sofia getting older.
