Sorry there was ice on the sidewalk.
sorry the snow shovel is curled up on one side and it didn't scrape off the ice.
sorry I didn't put your centrepiece on the table, it was too big.
sorry I used paper plates, plastic knives and forks, yes we ended up changing the silverware.
sorry you sat in the family room where you felt a draft.
sorry I didn't have dresses on the girls, yes they had them on at dinner.
sorry the meat was sticking on one side, the gravy didn't taste scorched.
Sorry...

Trying to smile..

I spent years not smiling for very similar reasons. Your post sounds like my entire family. Knowing they would never change, I changed. Now I'm happy to be alive, no matter how miserable someone is or how miserable they try to make me.
Being thrilled with life in the face of someone who appreciates nothing is the best revenge there will ever be, because you don't do it to get "revenge" - you do it because it just feels so good to be in a place of gratitude and happiness.
And remember: all that misery - it's *never about you* - it's about *them*. You my dear, are fabulous...
I don't know what to say except that my heart goes out to you.
Oooh...who made you feel like that?
Not fair.
Sounds like me and my in-laws. And yet I keep trying.
are you saying sorry to Grandma, because you wish she saw only the 'best'?... you are the best and she sees that amongst the dog hair, dried out markers and your tears... up there.
I am thinking of you most of all this day
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
trying counts by the way.
Girl you make me smile with your sweet comments all the time, I pray your holiday is the absolute best. I am a paperplate plastic ware person too. Nothing wrong with anything on this list. I am sorry for your rotten dinner party,
Hugs,
Connie
WHAT!!!! Your not perfect either? Good I'm not alone.
I Don't even sweat it hun.
Sending a big cyber hug.
Merry Christmas to you and yours ;O)
Sorry doesn't work on those who don't deserve it! I stopped saying in to the Wicked Witch of The South a long time ago. She never deserved it. My son calls her the Dementor (from Harry Potter) for a reason; she sucks the joy and happiness from everything. You have nothing to be sorry for! You are an amazing Mom!!! You are an awesome wife!!! You are a wonderful person!!! I wish there were more people like YOU in this world and less like THEM!
Hugs & Kisses!
Merry Christmas!
Sam
On behalf of those that you so graciously invited into your home to share a special celebration that was suppossed to be filled with love and laughter.... On behalf of those that you allowed to enjoy the fruits of your labors of love...
On behalf of those that were given the privledge, the honor, the blessing and the joy of spending the day with your precious, sweet girls and their loving parents....
I say, "We are sorry.... we are sorry for hurting you... we are sorry for tainting your special Christmas... we are sorry for not thanking you for each moment, and all the love, time, and effort you gave on our behalf... we are sorry for robbing the joy out of your special day."
Merry Christmas sweet friend...
God bless you and may your Christmas Eve and Day be filled with JOY.... Christ is born! And oh, how He loves you and appreciates all that you did for your guests. You brought a smile to His heart as you celebrated His birthday!
Thinking about you today and tomorrow... go get 'em tiger ;)
Hugs to all of you on Christmas!!!!
Hugs to you, don't let them get you down. Don't feel you need to jump through hoops to please the unpleasable. You are perfect just the way you are.
Oh honey, I double Jewels of My Heart.
I'm so sorry you were left feeling sorry.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas anyway.
BIG HUGS!
On my dear friend....I triple Daleaa and Nikki....sometimes you have to let it go......hugs to you!
Oh honey,
Shake all of that right off. I can't even believe someone would make you feel that way. It sounds like everything turned out ok. Sometimes people just can't be happy even for one day. You are good woman and a blessing to that family for being willing to make a meal and do the work it takes to pull of Christmas dinner. I'd share a turkey leg with you anytime. Big hug.
Focus on that fact that you are an amazing mother and nobody can take that away from you. I have learned that some people just have to complain, it's what makes them feel important.
My in-laws told us yesterday that if we have Owens baptizm in May they won't be able to come in for it because we may have a snow storm and they can't take the chance!!! Snow in May?? not likely!
I think you are great!
Hugs
Tracy
I'm sorry someone was ungrateful for all your hard work!
Hope you had a very Merry Christmas anyway! ;)
ditto to all of the above
