My morning started at 4 a.m., I awoke to blood curdling screams from two terrified little girls.
A catastrophe had occurred, someone(a ghost they claim) had turned out their flower nightlight.
I shook myself out of a nice slumber(Superman was working nights, it was my turn,LOL)hurried into their room to discover the hydro had gone out. Having a hubby in the business he has us prepared for such events, I ran to the cupboard grabbed the crank flashlights and lanterns. I put the lantern in the girls room, stumbled back into bed thinking I could pull the covers up and get a couple more hours, wrong!!
Just as I snuggled back into my warm spot, lights began flashing around the house!!! The girls started screaming, they said the house was haunted(too much Halloween you think???). The utilities truck was outside the front of our home troubleshooting the line problem with a huge spotlight. I instructed the girls to look out their window to see what the light was, thinking they would settle down and Momma bear could get back to her den. Wrong again, now they sat up taking in the sights of two men fixing the lines. I told them to get back to bed school would be here before we knew it.
We got up to the sound of Superman opening the deadbolt on the back door, the girls rushed to tell Daddy their story, after he listened he told them to look out the kitchen window.
More screams, this time with excitement!!
Yes, the root of the problem, SNOW!!!! It was heavy and causing havoc, Superman had a terrible night at work, he was so busy with outages, he is now sleeping like a baby.
I am here watching the snow melting on the pumpkins....

Crazy, isn't it? Snow before Halloween! I hope the weather warms up by Friday.
Oh my! I am not ready for snow yet. I hope that snow melts and doesn't come back until December! Cute story. Can you imagine what they are going to tell the kids at school about living in a haunted house? :)
Wow! Snow!!!
Sounds like your little ones can inject EXCITEMENT and SUSPENSE into even tame events!!!...so much fun! (though, maybe NOT in the middle of the night!)

Funny we usually get it here in the East Coast first! Not that I'm complaining!
This weather is nuts...isn't it!!
We got some too! I cannot tell you the last time we got snow this early!
Hope you get some rest tonight:)
Crazy isn't it? We have had some flurries, but nothing has stuck yet. I hope this doesn't mean we're going to have a bad winter this year.
I can't believe you have snow already..
YUCK....
the girls crack me up..
Have a Great Evening..
Wow! We're getting our first rain tomorrow night, can't wait. Love that picture. Stay warm friend.
That just sounds like to much fun... running around the house, at night with the flashlights... ok... you were snug in bed but still... hehehe
I can't believe you already have snow...and so much! (yikes)
And, as far as your monkeys bein' scared - I don't know if I blame them after seeing the spoooktacular party you threw!
(you make an incredible witch, by the way)
oh it is pretty but I know you aren't quite ready!~
Sleep is always so extra good when its cold...
I bet it was difficult to get up and deal with the catastrophe.
Hope you have sweet dreams tonight:)
Hi Kerri,
I just got home a few days ago and came home to snow as well. Lovely photo and hope the girls enjoyed the snow on their pumpkins.
Hugs,
Jonni
What a beautiful picture!
It has been 80 degrees F here all week...we have the opposite problem, rotting jack-o-lanterns! But I'm loving the brief return of Indian summer!
