She gave me "Patience"

Last evening we had a Mother-Daughter Sparks meeting. Jennifer informed me we were going to make a craft together for Mother's day and then we were going to do some dancing.
We arrived at 6 and got started making our craft.
We were given a clay pot and the girls were to paint something on it that they like to do with their Mom's. Jennifer painted her and I gardening, it was a masterpiece, she painted the sun, butterflies, a rainbow and some beautiful flowers on it.
The next step was to plant some impatience in the pot, she chose a wonderful cheery pink color.
When all was finished(dancing and all) we left for home.
Just as I was driving home she piped up in the backseat "I'm so glad you could come Mom"
I said "I was so pleased that we had such a nice time"
The she added"Do you like the patience I gave to you in the pot"
I broke into laughter and told her they were called impatience.
She replied with a frown "Your already impatient"
I love this child, LOL.
Giving me a pot of "Patience", if were that easy, he he ......

You couldn't make this stuff up!!!!

I have often prided myself on how creative, artistic and imaginative my two little monkeys are.
They can take a piece of paper and turn it into a wonderful, colorful masterpiece, they can make a box take on new life as a ship, their tree house is just never that, it 's often a magical place inhabited with princesses, mermaids or the odd dog and cat.
While sitting sipping my coffee on the deck, I was impressed with how well the monkeys were engaged in play(translation, no hitting, screaming, crying or tattling). I sat back enjoying the sun and just relaxed, suddenly I noticed in the creative play that they were dogs, there was a lot of barking, running after a ball and some growling. Grinning, thinking that this was hilarious to watch, I had no idea just what was about to come next!!
Jennifer rounded the corner butted up the pool, lifted her leg in the air and make a ssssss sound, Jill of course never to be outdone by her big Sis, followed suit. Let's just say the dogs must of had a lot of water before coming outside to play.
I must say Mom was also glad they were already acquainted and well they didn't have to sniff their way around to meeting each other.
Oh and yes, coffee is not good going going down the wrong way as your choking from laughter, kids, you can't make this stuff up. LOL...

A little Red in the Face...

The day before yesterday I had taken the girls to Tim Horton so Mommy could have a hot cup of coffee and the girls could have a donut(special treat, and I wanted a HOT coffee). When we were finished I told the girls we had one errand to run before going home, I wanted to go to our local grocer and get some lunch things, so we finished up and away we went.
The shopping trip was going well, we hadn't knocked anything off a shelf, no screaming, fighting with our sister, no running down isles, Mommy was pretty calm and happy.
I had picked up everything I needed and off to the checkouts we went, they were pretty busy so we stood in line, again to my delight both girls were behaving beautifully , I kept praising them and told them I was proud. I was getting some nods, winks and smiles from the people standing in line.
We were getting ready to leave when the cashier asked "Do your girls want a sucker?"
I thanked her and said "No thanks they just had a donut."
I am kind of strict when it comes to sugar and their diets, it just sends my Jilly-Bean crazy.
Well Jill threw herself into a huge meltdown and started to scream that she wanted a sucker. Now what you don't know is that Jilly is having trouble with her S, it comes out as an F. Yes she was saying SF*cker, now everyone in line was either gasping and snickering.
I was trying to make a quick get away and we all know too well that when we want to do that your monkey will turn into the rubber band man and you can't get a good grip on them to drag them out of the store.
Jill continued to scream, my face went 10 shades of red and then to top it all off Jen starts yelling "Mom Jill will have to go in the time out spot for saying that word, the word only Moms and Dads say. " What???? The word Moms and Dads say(??), oh yes we use that word all the time!!!
I want to crawl into the shopping bag and disappear.
I grab my bags and neatly stuff Jillian under my arm and run quickly to the van where I am now trying to stifle my laughter(I had to laugh or cry).
I buckle everyone up and it's off through the drive thru to get a calm my frazzled Mommy nerve cup of coffee.
This is my world, we will be working on our s this week, LOL.

My Hubby look alikes

I have gone to this site before and curiosity got the better of me and I played.
I have never uploaded my Hubby's photo(nice glassy-eyed picture from New Years Eve to boot, he'll love me for this) before this morning, what I discovered made me chuckle.
I kind of thought he might look a little like Kevin Costner(come on now ladies, work with me here, I said kinda)but an Asian beauty?
They say the in the matching room they try to match up using the likeness of the father's image, I often thought my girls resembled their Father, now Confirmation.
Now if this isn't going to make me smile to myself all day, I don't know what is.

Billy Bones

Billy Bones........ Last night my hubby decides(10 minutes before bedtime, not a good idea) he is going to get Halloween decorations out and sort through them so we can put them up tomorrow.
He gets out some masks , puts them on and scares the girls(bedtime??), they run around screaming hysterically, Jennifer starts to laugh while Jillian cries until Daddy takes it off and she sees his face. Now I am getting a little miffed as to why he is doing this because I am a firm believer of calming their surrounding half an hour before bed, quiet time, bath time and story, all sshhh quiet.
Well it gets worse, dear hubby gets out Billy Bones, now he scares me!! It is a skeleton that starts automatically to sound. Well you guessed it, Jill is screaming Billy is a dancing and singing"The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out" his eyes are glowing red.
Jillian is running to me for comfort trying to crawl over my back to get way, all the while we are trying not to grin(no hate mail please.....). I scoop her up go upstairs, calm her and get her ready for bed. Luckily no nightmares took place, thank goodness.
This morning after breakfast I wanted to shower quickly before bed so I asked the girls to go downstairs for a quick cartoon of Wonder Pets, they agreed and off they went.
Just as I was walking towards the bathroom I heard Billy Bones laughing, singing and dancing!!!
The hysterical screams followed, oh my hubby is going to get tricks tonight no treats...........
AAAAAAHHHHHH.......

Hard Boiled

On Saturday mornings when my hubby is off work we try to head to our local farmer's market.
I love going to show the girls the vegetables, fresh flowers, animals and various fresh fruits. It is educational for them to see fresh produce being sold by the farmer just not sitting on the grocery shelves.
So we all headed in to the market and the girls wanted to go see the bunnies, chickens and other various types of fowl on sale.
They were watching the chickens when one hen pops out and egg right in front of Jennifer, her eyes big as saucers, she got all excited and squealed in a booming voice"Mom, that chicken just laid an egg". Well her voice carries and drew a small crowd, the farmer selling the chickens came over opened the cage and handed Jen the egg.
Examining the beautiful brown egg with her Dad, her Dad pointed out it was still warm.
In the sweetest voice she pipes up, "Hey Mom, this egg came out hard boiled".
The farmer and the crowd she had drawn grinned and laughed, couldn't help but.
The farmer gave her the fresh egg and she went home and helped her Daddy make it into an egg and cheese on an English muffin.
I love this child, her sweetness and her innocence. I will have a grin on my face for the rest of the day.....
