Because I'm your Mom...

Part of being a parent is that sometime there are worries, I know the antibiotics will work and that you'll be fine. Still as your Mom, I am worried. I want to see a change, I want it to go down in size, I know they are telling me this is common, but this is my baby and I'm worried....

Thank you for all the well wishes, we are presently awaiting on a specialist appointment(I am expecting a call today!). I still am feeling totally anxious and worried but so happy we are good hands. I am sure these fears are unwarranted, but I am a Mom...

Spring fever.

I asked Jillian what she wanted to do today, without skipping a beat she told me she wanted to go catch frogs, LOL. I explained they were sleeping until Spring and that we would have to wait until it warms up.
Is it ever going to warm up, is Spring ever going to get here!! This has been a long winter, so for now she had to look at the pictures of frog catching...

As our third round of speech therapy nears an end I wish I could say this time was the charm. While I can see a huge difference I feel that we still need to proceed with some more intervention. As a parent it is so hard to see your child struggling, my heart is breaking.
What is even more difficult is after this session ends we will be placed on the waiting list once more and wait another 3 to 5 months to be assessed once again. If Jillian still needs intervention will be seen again with a Pathologist, my fear is that she will have started Senior Kindergarten by then. If this happens she will be seen only through the school board, it is very easy for your child to fall through the cracks. Are only other option would be to go the private route but is very costly.

Together we will work through this my sweet girl , your so determined, I love your spirit...

Family Day 2009

We have enjoyed every minute of Family Day, slept in, went skating and off to Tim's for a treat.
Just a relaxing day full of family fun, I think we should have one of these little holidays every month, LOL!
We decided to take an informal shot every Family Day to see how much the monkeys change from year to year, this being our first attempt.

On my own...

It's been twice this week she has let go of my apron strings so to speak. This morning she went to a day camp, last year she insisted I go and stay the whole day with her. This morning all packed and ready to head out the door, she left me behind to wave from the front window...

Gotcha day coming up.

It's Puddin' Pops gotcha day coming up on Monday, we usually have a private family celebration, Chinese food, dessert, cuddle up while watching her "Gotcha Day" video. This year she has requested lasagna, cupcakes and her video. We'll see if she changes her mind before Monday....

Holding her heart this morning, not her hand..

This morning Jennifer asked if I would stand at the van while she walked herself to the school yard, what??? Didn't want Mom to walk her to school, my baby has decided she can walk from the parking lot to the school yard!
I sometimes forget that my Puddin Pop is just 6, she has always been my old spirit, has been a very mature little girl, wise beyond her years.
So as I stood by the van I watched her walk across the school grounds to the line up, emotions high, realizing she has grown so much since entering the first grade.
Wishing I could keep her small forever but embracing this beautiful, young girl she is becoming.
