First my Father was awarded a medal from the Lieutenant Governor of Canada. He was given this award for his outstanding service in his field, he is a Paramedic, he has been doing this job for 40 years. To be honored in his career by his peers and the Government of Canada is an incredible honor, one he truly deserves. We are so proud of you Grandpa Bill, we love you.
Then to complete an already wonderful week my girl run in the Terry Fox Run.
She run a kilometer, her Mommy, Daddy and family are really proud of her accomplishment.
Way to go Puddin' Pop.

An idea, let's hope it works..

The last couple of weeks have been a little hectic around here, getting back to schedules, two girls in school, planning lunches, you know the routines of back to school.
Jennifer now being in grade one has changed schedules the most, she is going to school all day everyday. I have noticed some behaviour changes with her the last couple of weeks, I put them down to changes in routine, the teacher was even involved in one incident.
Being a very mature, precocious little girl I can tell when something is bothering her immediately, so I sat her down and we talked a great lengths.I finally figured out from our discussion what has been going on, she is missing Mommy time, she thinks her sister is getting more than her share now that she is school full time and her sister is still home every other day.
I come up with the idea that once or twice a month it will be big girl day for Jennifer and I, anything she'd like to do with Mom.
I am hoping this will help, I know I can't wait for some one on one, I have been missing her too.

Enjoying the harvest.

Sitting on a pumpkin enjoying an apple.
Jilly-bean definitly ate more than she picked, LOL.
I like this shot.

Today was a beautiful, warm, sunny day, perfect for going apple picking. The girls and a few of Jennifer's schoolmates met at a local orchard and we picked some apples. The pumpkins are almost ready for picking too, we decided to leave the pumpkins until Daddy could be with us to pick out the perfect one(and too carry it home too, LOL).
I love fall, enjoying the harvest, the colors and smells, it is one of my favorite seasons.
We plan to go to the orchard again next weekend, this time with Daddy, the girls can't wait.

Routines, routines...

It has been pretty quiet here this last week, routines have been established once again, homework being brought home, lunches and backpacks being packed and early bedtimes.
I am getting used to having a day to myself, I actually went to the mall today and shopped this morning, didn't have to deal with tantrums, no one having to go to the washroom and not one article of clothing was pulled from the rack by tiny fingers, yes, it was bliss, LOL!!
Just added a few pictures from a the Western fair, the girls enjoyed it , rode all the rides at least twice and exhausted their parents!
Hope your week is going well...

Let us never forget.

As we mark the seventh anniversary of 9-11, let us not forget those lives lost, the families and friends affected. Let us not forget the brave heroes, the firefighters, the paramedics and police.

Let us never forget....

Crazy Cravings..

This is one of the hardest things I have done in a while, silly to some, but I have been advised(no told) that due to health issue brewing I must give up Co*ke. I have been sucking all that sugar and caffeine since I was in my early teens(or before), so to stop has been very difficult.
I am still getting some caffeine drinking one or two cups of coffee a day so I have not been experiencing the withdrawal headaches ect. I still am having the cravings, though not as often, they still hit me especially in the early afternoon when my batteries start to wear down.
I can't believe that pop is everywhere, all the check out counters, vending machines on every corner calling to me, luring me to spend my loonie.
There is an upside to cutting down on all that sugar, I have lost five pounds, not changing anything else in my daily activities, just not guzzling the pop, this is pretty great.
I still sit here typing wishing instead of my fizzy Pelegrino mineral water(still want the fizz of the pop too)I was enjoying a pop, I am determined not to fall off the wagon.
If not for me for my family, it's too crucial at this time, can't go out of remission, the virus must stay inactive.....

First full day of class.

Walking to school with her hero, I just love this picture!!!
She is ready to go, her backpack was as big as her, just too cute!!
One last hug for Mom before going in.
Jilly-Bean hugged us, gave kisses and got in line. There was a quick wave and off she went, there were no tears, just Mommy's. I am so proud of you Monkey, hope your first day of school was incredible.

Meet and Greet Day.

Yesterday was Jillian meet and greet the teacher day.

Jillian only went for one hour, it was to orientate her to her new surroundings, see the spot where she will hang her coat, put her communication folder and most of all meet her teacher Mrs. R.
It went very well, she made two friends, the only concern I had was when she had enough she bolted for the door and run down the hallway. At least the teacher is aware of this, there are no ankle bracelets or invisible fences our school(joking!!)so now that we Jillian could decide she wants to leave for home they will assign her a buddy(Sr. kindergarten student) for washroom breaks ect. I for one am relieved, it was good for my piece of mind.

She is the youngest in her class, she is still so tiny she can fit in her cubby at school!!!
Sister shot, can you tell Jennifer has had enough of Mommy paparazzi, just wait until Monday, Jillian first full day of school!!
Yes, the camera will be out once again, LOL, I can almost see Superman's eyes rolling now!!
Have a wonderful weekend, xo.
