Even as a child my parents recall me screaming at the sight of one.
You can imagine the horror when I asked Jillian what theme she wanted for her 4 th birthday party and she sweetly replied that she wanted clowns!!!
I am a big girl and yes I can do this, okay this is what I keep telling myself, LOL.
For now, I am planning on having an "Under the big top" birthday theme and yes, the kids are going to dress as clowns, ahhhhh...
I can do this, I can do this, breath....
Good grief!!! I am scared of them, too! I am proud of you, my friend, for conquering this fear for the sake of a good party : )
ReplyDeleteOh my,
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your Clown party.
All Zoe wants is a princess cake,
the one we see every week at the grocery store. So we have decided to go with a Princess theme.

I'm SO with you about the fear of clowns. My fear started after seeing the movie "Poltergeist"...*cringe*
ReplyDeleteYou can do it. Just take a lot of deep breaths. They will be cute girly clowns.
ReplyDeleteI am terrified of clowns too. I would try to divert that one, heh.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing I love you or I would have to be soooooo evil!!!!
ReplyDeleteOooops!!! That last comment was really from me (Sam)!!! I was updating a friend's blog for her and forgot to switch back to me!!! Sorry!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, way to go!

Oh Kerri, deep breaths. I feel for you! My Kerri likes bugs and I am terrified of them, and the last thing I want to do is pass my fear(s) on to her. I know this is going to be hard, but you can do this for your girls, I know you can! Maybe I should send you my recipe for the "cup of courage" (sparkling sangria) drink I always make for these occasions. Trust me, a few glasses and you won't care about the clowns anymore!
ReplyDeleteI have always been scared of clowns too! My Mom always told me all the places she had to avoid with me because of them.
ReplyDeleteYou will get through this...
The things we do for the sake of our children:)
My Jacob does not care for clowns either.
ReplyDeleteOh, My Gosh Kerri! If that is how I saw clowns I would be terrified of them too! Please, oh, please get that scary monster thing off of your blog! lol
ReplyDeleteyou are such a good mommy..... oh, I hope your little clowns are much happier and not so STINKIN' SCARY as this horrid creature... hehee
THAT is funny (sorry)!
ReplyDeleteHow many kids are you having? I'd be terrified of having a handful of kids for a themed party at all! YOU are brave!
Clowns have never bothered me but I have a lot of friends that are. Maybe you could keep a bowl of "Mommy punch" safely tucked away in the kitchen. Just a suggestion (wink). I'm sure you'll do alright.
ReplyDeleteoh you and me both woman!
ReplyDeleteoh dear.....just pour yourself a drink....that's one scary clown!
ReplyDeleteI hate them too Kerri! Have you seen that movie "It" by Stephen King? Now that's scary.
ReplyDeleteI have always hated clowns and always will. You are braver than me for planning the birthday party. You are a great mama.
Hugs,
Jonni
I've got plenty of phobias myself that other people don't get. I too have to suck it up. Proves you're a great mom!
ReplyDeleteME TOO!
ReplyDeleteCan't stand them. Except for rodeo clowns...those are the good ones.
DITTO
ReplyDeletethe movie/book "It"
did me in for life.
